Uses a pattern as shown at right side and picks up sound equally from two opposite directions.

Uses: These microphones are cool for mic-ing two different sources at the same time. They work well in recording sessions where you might have a group of 6-8 background singers and instead of putting everyone in a different booth with a separate mic, you can capture the live feel of the entire group with 3-4 people on each side of the mic.
